Hollis Motorcycles was founded in 2015 following a successful test-showing of the prototype machine at The Goodwood Revival. Started by Steve Hayes and Steve Lowe, the original question was “what would a vintage bike look like if it was brought up to date as a cafe racer?”
Steve Lowe has a great track record for designing and building show-quality custom bikes, but fancied doing something different – maybe with a veteran look, so when Steve Hayes happened along with a style in mind, they started sketching and mocking up what became the Type ‘A’.
Designed for that quintessential sunny Sunday morning ride to the pub, the bike is long and low with modern comforts such as disc brakes, suspension, and electrics.
The engine is a Royal Enfield 350cc Bullet giving the drive that only a British single can.
Fabrication and assembly is carried out in our workshop near Oakhanger Hampshire, with some parts supplied by local specialists.
